Golf
St Thomas

On the northern side of St Thomas, Mahogany Run is an 18 hole, 6,022 yard, par 70 course designed by George and Tom Fazio. Green fees fluctuate with the tourist seasons but are around $120. The course is world famous for The Devil’s Triangle – the 13th, 14th and 15th holes which have spectacular views and have you driving over the sea.
St John
There are no golf courses on St John.
St Croix

An internationally acclaimed championship 18 hole course on the northwest side of St Croix designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr - par 72, green fees $65 to $95 dependent on season.
Buccaneer Golf Course, t 714 2100, www.thebuccaneer.com
A recently renovated 18 hole course attached the Buccaneer hotel close to Christainsted, offering panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea. Par 70, 5,810 yards, green fees $70 to $95 dependent on season.
The Reef Golf Course, t 773 8844
A nine hole loop tucked into Teague Bay on the island’s east end, 3000 yards, green fees $10. |

Medical
The United States Virgin Islands is generally a benign place and you will experience little that you wouldn’t expect to suffer stateside or in Europe although health risks may include hepatitis A and very occasionally dengue fever. Only bottled water should be drunk outside the major towns. Medical facilities are of a high standard, but health insurance is vital as medical care is very expensive.

Nudity
Topless and nude bathing is illegal in the United States Virgin Islands and is frowned upon, but it’s been known to happen in Little Magens beach, St Thomas and Solomon Beach, St John. It is also frowned upon for men to go bare chested except on the beach and so you should wear a shirt around town. |
