Golf
There are more golf courses in Puerto Rico than anywhere else in the Caribbean, many designed by famous golfing legends and part of large hotel resorts. Both the ladies PGA Tour and the Senior PGA Tour finish their season in Puerto Rico and it is a popular place for American golfers to visit. Below is a selection of the best courses around the island.

Berwind Country Club, Rio Grande, t 787 876
18 holes, par 72, 7011 yards, open to the public at varying times so make sure to ring before arriving.

Westin Rio Mar, Rio Grande, t 888 8815
Two 18 hole championship courses, par 72/72, 6782/6945 yards, Greg Norman and Tom Fazio designed.

Dorado Resort, general number t 796 1234
There are a number of courses here including the Dorado del Mar Beach & Golf Resort, t 796 3070 (par 72, 6940 yards) and the Robert Trent Jones Sr designed Dorado Beach East Course, t 796 8961 (par 72, 6985 yards).

Palmas del Mar Country Club, Humacao, t 852 6000
Two challenging courses, par 71/71, 6610/7117 yards, designed by Gary Player and by Rees Jones. Recently renovated.

Punta Borinquen, Aguadilla, t 890 2987
18 hole, par 72, 6889 yard course overlooking the ocean. The wind can prove to be a major factor. Good driving range and practice green.

Medical
Health standards in Puerto Rico are generally comparable with those of the United States, its medical facilities are good and there are physicians and hospitals in all cities. It is strongly advised to have extensive medical cover because charges for treatment in Puerto Rico are high. There are 24 hour emergency rooms at -

No vaccination certificates are required for travel to Puerto Rico, however visitors are advised to be up to date with routine vaccinations. Cases of dengue fever occur annually and therefore mosquito protection measures are essential.

Naturism is illegal in Puerto Rico and there are no nudist facilities (camps or beaches) on the island.
