Passports & Visas A Canadian passport is required for Canadians intending to visit Curaçao for more than a week. It should be valid for at least three months beyond the date of your expected departure. If you are travelling for a week or less, you are required only to be in possession of valid photo identification and proof of citizenship (such as a birth certificate)
US citizens can also enter Curaçao with a birth certificate and a picture ID, or a valid passport, in addition to the ongoing or return ticket. It is however important to remember that as of January 2007, all United States citizens are required to have a passport to return to the US.
UK citizens must use a valid passport and be in possession of a return ticket.
Citizens of most countries in the world do not need a visa for their entry to the island; however some do so make sure to check with your travel operator when planning your trip. |

Service Charge/Tipping Tipping is expected and greatly appreciated. Porters normally receive NAFL 1 per bag. Taxi drivers are usually tipped with 10% of the fare. Restaurants usually add 10% and most hotels add a 12% service charge to the bill.
Hotels must charge an additional 7% government tax. With a 10% service charge this can make a considerable difference to the eventual cost of your trip, so make sure to factor it in when pricing it up. Tipping is left to your own discretion. |
