Beaches Bonaire does not have miles of white sandy beaches but there are some nice places to sunbathe. Bonaire is best known for its amazing diving and snorkelling and the array of coral and fish that reside on its coasts. All of the beaches on Bonaire are public with the exception of the Harbour Village Beach Club.
Bachelor Beach
Just to the south of Kralendijk off the road, Bachelor Beach and Windsock Beach are small stretches of sand that are great for swimming.
Pink Beach
A great place to snorkel and admire the pink coral that gives the beach its name. To the south of the island, Pink Beach is easily reachable by car or by the flamingo bus which stops here every day.
Cai Beach
On the windward coast of Lac Bay and protected from the Atlantic waves. Tranquil waters perfect for swimming and it does get busy at weekends when there are bands playing live and food for sale.
Playa Funchi, Boca Slagbaai and Playa Frans
Three beaches on the north side of the island that have good snorkelling and a little sand. No facilities so take food and drink. Playa Funchi is worth a visit to see the iguanas roaming the beach freely.
Boka Kokolishi
On the north coast and not suited for swimming, but it is a beautiful place to hike along the rugged shoreline with its lava stone landscape.
Klein Bonaire
The small island off to the east of Bonaire. There are some sandy beaches here and some hotels can arrange transports. There are also water taxis available. |

Check In/Check Out As a general rule check-out times are around 12 noon and check-in is generally not prior to 3pm, during which time the rooms are made ready for new arrivals. Some properties may provide a day room subject to availability or shower facilities so that you can spend your last hours on the beach. If you will be arriving before the normal check-in time then they may be flexible by prior arrangement. You should make any special arrangements at the time of booking. |
