Golf The Bahamas is a popular location for golf and there is a range of courses on the main islands and a course each in Abaco and Eleuthera, so there is something to suit all abilities.
New Providence
Cable Beach Golf Resort, t 327 1741
18 holes, 72 par, 7,040 yards, designed by Jim-McCormick, includes a driving range and a practice putting green. Clubhouse facilities include a bar, snack bar, pro-shop, locker rooms, bag rooms. Green fees around $135.
Ocean Golf Club, t 363 3925
18 holes, 72 par, 7,100 yards, stunning course designed by Tom Weiskopf. Clubhouse facilities include: snack bar, bar, pro-shop, restaurant, locker room. You can find the worlds largest sandtrap at the Ocean Club.
Grand Bahama Island

18 holes, par 72, designed by Joe Lee. Challenging new Fazio Design Group course. Steep sugar white bunkers give the eye a pleasing contrast against the emerald coloured fairways.

Eleuthera

Medical Medical facilities are good in Nassau and Freeport, but they are expensive and usually require a cash payment on treatment. Medical insurance is definitely advised.

The Lyford Cay Hospital, New Providence, t 362 4400, has a hyperbaric chamber for treatment of decompression illness.
There are no mandatory vaccinations for entering the Bahamas. Hepatitis A immunisation is recommended and a yellow fever vaccination is required if you are arriving from an infected area. There have been recent malaria outbreaks and travellers should take precautions before arrival. Water is considered safe. |

Nudity Nudity is not allowed in public areas in the Bahamas, although the occasional woman goes topless on some more secluded beaches. There are clothing optional beaches at Cutlass Bay resort on Cat Island and at Breezes on Cable beach, Nassau. |
