Amarillo is an attractive modern house with four bedrooms in the southwest of Grenada, with views out to sea over the True Blue peninsular on which it is set. As the name implies, the house is coloured yellow (amarillo is yellow in Spanish) and it has quite a grand Mediterranean and Caribbean style with traditional pillars, white fittings and balconies with metalwork balustrades. Inside however, the atmosphere is very much in relaxed Caribbean style, as everything is directed to indoor-outdoor living, with doors that fling open onto terraces and a pool deck right outside. There are tiled floors throughout and comfortable mahogany and greenheart furniture. The villa is in a fairly quiet area, but well positioned for activity - not far off is True Blue Bay Resort and beyond it are the beaches of the Point Salines peninsular, some of which have excellent beach bars. Amarillo is suitable for families with older children and for couples looking for some privacy.

Beach & Swimming Amarillo is set on the True Blue promontory close to Mace Beach, a small stretch of sand that offers a little snorkelling and a little sunbathing, but no facilities.
Grande Anse, Grenada’s best known beach, is about ten minutes away on the northern side of the Point Salines Peninsular and has all the beach activities you could ever want. There are also other beaches close by, set in pretty coves along the northern side of the peninsular. You will find some of Grenada’s excellent beach bars here.
There is a medium-sized, free-form pool at Amarillo. It sits on a terrace right in front of the house and is surrounded by greenery. There are loungers for sunbathing and a gazebo. |

Sports & Recreation There is a 9-hole golf course about ten minutes drive away. Scuba diving is available through several dive shops on Grand Anse and deep sea fishing can easily be arranged too.
It is possible to arrange for a massage therapist to come to your villa. |

Locality Amarillo is on the southern side of the Point Salines peninsular, the south-western tip of Grenada. There is quite a bit of development in the bay itself including other villas, a marina and St George’s University close by. There is plenty of activity within walking distance at True Blue Bay resort, which has restaurant in a very pretty setting and an extremely lively bar. For a smart meal try the Gary Rhodes restaurant at the Calabash in L’Anse aux Epines not far off. You will find some of the island’s prettiest beaches, and a couple of excellent beach bars, in the coves on the northern side of the peninsular.
St George’s, the capital of Grenada, is about fifteen minutes drive away. It is the prettiest harbour town in the Caribbean and well worth a visit. There are a few restaurants within a short drive, on the road that leads into the L’Anse aux Epines area. |

Getting Around Hiring a car to explore the island is easily arranged and is a great addition to a stay in Grenada. You can travel to the remoter beaches and the island’s many excellent beach bars, and you can eat out in the restaurants when you do not want to cater for yourself. You will also have to collect groceries anyway, so we recommend a car with all villa-based holidays.
We suggest that you make a reservation in advance through Spice Isle Villas (who use our recommended car hire company, Y&R Car Rentals) or your travel organiser at the time of booking your holiday. The car can be collected at the airport or be delivered to the villa. A Grenadian driving licence (price EC$30 for each driver) will be issued by the hire company. Vehicles can be returned at the airport or collected from the hotel. Be aware that cars can be booked up at the height of the season between December and April, as well as during August and over Thanksgiving (November), so it is a good idea to reserve one in advance. |
