Sea-U Guest House hotel is a delightful, small independent hotel set in very pretty gardens overlooking the wild Atlantic coast of Barbados. It centres on a main house and cottage - clapboard houses with large, ocean-facing verandas and elegantly simple furniture – but while these make a traditional Caribbean setting, Sea-U’s atmosphere is emphatically modern Caribbean, with a lovely, low-key air and plenty of corners in which to relax, in hefty wooden Adirondack chairs and in hammocks that hang on the veranda and between the garden palms. The small hotel is remote geographically - and spiritually - from the social whirl of the better known Barbados West Coast. Here, you can expect to live life quietly to the pleasant background rumble of the ocean waves. And explore the area. Wild beaches, with safe swimming, and gardens, are not far off. Surfing is right offshore. This is the best of the East Coast, the island’s natural side that is so good for independent travellers.
