As you enter la Banane you are drawn into an enclave of stylish calm, all tropical minimalism within a grove of tall palms. Beneath the calming greens of cascading golden palms there is a multiplicity of cool greys and browns, in the Ipe deck, the trunks of latanier palms, metalwork tables and chair-backs and in the open fronted bar and library, where the only slash of colour on the sleek dark furniture is the green of a calabash. La Banane is a small and extremely hip hotel, cool but friendly too, being in the Caribbean, and a stylish hidout from which to explore St Barths.

KEY FEATURES
A delightful St Barths hotel with just nine rooms in pretty cottages under the palms. Two pools, open-sided, minimal style central area with bar, reading room with library, TV, DVD (plus library), breakfast served but no restaurant.
