The Indies is a small hotel set at the heart of New Kingston, the uptown, busy district of Jamaica’s capital. It is set around a traditional Jamaican home so you walk into a pretty wooden hallway with a hint of old-time Jamaica. Most of the rooms are set behind the main house, in a modern block that overlooks the covered restaurant and the palms in the courtyard. Indies Hotel is budget but it is clean and reasonably comfortable and it is ideally positioned for the action and business of uptown Kingston, the malls, offices and bars and clubs. It sees an international crowd, often young and some Caribbean travellers too.
