GRENADA, CARRIACOU AND PETITE MARTINIQUE are in the southern Caribbean. Grenada is lush, fairly easily accessible, has some good beaches and coves, excellent for sailing, island hopping. There is a range of accommodation, with good value at the bottom end, some small and stylish hideaways, luxury at the top end including good villas. Some good beach bars and restaurants, pretty capital St George’s, and spices (Grenada calls itself the Spice Isle). Carriacou a lovely, near-comatose small island encircled with superb sand, good scuba and a handful of charming inns and villas. Petite Martinique very small, strong local community, few facilities for visitors.
